SpecialityDirector of Fundraising, the Youth Adventure Trust
Louise is the Director of Fundraising for a regional youth development charity, the Youth Adventure Trust. The charity supports vulnerable young people, helping them to build resilience, develop confidence and learn skills to face the challenges in their lives. She joined the charity in 2015 and since then has developed the fundraising strategy to diversify incomes streams and increase revenue. Her career began in the adventure travel industry, but a volunteer placement in El Salvador steered her towards the charity sector and her first fundraising job ay ChildLine. She went on to become a fundraising consultant, specialising in managing capital campaigns in schools, before going on to head up the fundraising at Westonbirt, The National Arboretum in Gloucestershire and leading their first multi-million pound fundraising campaign. At the Youth Adventure Trust she is able to combine her love of outdoor adventure with a passion for fundraising. During her 7 years with the charity, she has got to know many inspirational young people who face challenges in their daily lives that she can’t even begin to imagine. She has seen them push themselves to achieve more than they ever realised they could and felt privileged play a part in their Youth Adventure journey.
