Mr. Hamid H Azad has a track record of working in the charity sector for over twenty-five years and has a wealth of knowledge and talent in developing and implementing relief and development programmes worldwide. He brings with him over 20 years of experience in a variety of senior management positions with the NGO and Community Development sectors. His depth of knowledge on community affairs made up of a different faiths and cultures has been his strength in setting up and developing programmes and projects that cater for their needs. Currently he is the Chief Executive Officer of Muntada Aid. As a development professional, he has worked with various international and national organisations in various policy, strategic and management capacities. Hamid was successful in influencing organisations in developing partnerships and getting Muslim Aid’s contribution recognised, during his time with Muslim Aid as Head of International Programmes, Asst. CEO and CEO respectively. He has introduced Muslim Aid to various international forums and has facilitated signing of partnership and funding agreements for different integrated developmental projects of Muslim Aid with different institutions including World Bank, Asian Development Bank, ECHO and IDB. In the course of his role, he has overcome numerous challenges. He has made headway in delivering projects and attracting significant amounts of funds. This has given him enough experience and confidence to run a charity with vision and dynamism. Recently he has developed Muntada Aid’s Strategic vision, new structure and sustainability Plan. Over the recent years, under his leadership Muntada Aid has successfully overcome post Brexit financial uncertainty and also ensured financial sustainability during the current lock down period caused by unprecedented Covid-19 crisis. More importantly, he has had the opportunity to contribute to a significant amount of thought and effort to improve the quality of programme delivery. Moreover, as a qualified barrister and arbitrator he has insight in negotiation and advocacy. Apart from his regular job, Hamid is involved with community development and charity work. Currently he is the Chair of a small charity, Trust Member of London Muslim Centre and Chairman of Ark international School Governing Body. Hamid wrote a number of articles on Human Rights, leadership, management and other topical issues. He has presented seminars on various topics on development and leadership. He attended and managed a number of national and international conferences and seminars. He was actively involved with the preparation of World Humanitarian Summit in 2016 contributed significant inputs in developing and strengthening the 4 key themes of the World Humanitarian Summit. He has travelled to over 60 countries and had the opportunity to share views and consult on issues affecting the world with many statesmen, national and international dignitaries and third sector leaders.
