Dorothea joined the not-for-profit sector in 2006, leaving a Director role at Yahoo! to become Head of Digital at the British Red Cross, where she wrote the organisation’s first coherent digital strategy and tripled its digital audience in two years. In 2013, she joined Hand in Hand International.
As CEO of Hand in Hand, Dorothea completed a change programme that grew the organisation, then founder-led and -funded, into an award-winning fundraising and programme management operation with an experienced management team and a diverse board. Under her leadership, Hand in Hand International has achieved a balanced income between corporate, foundations, and institutional funding, securing six- and seven-figure partnerships with Swiss Re, Visa, IKEA Foundation, Boeing, GIZ and others.
