Richard has over twenty years’ experience in cancer charity leadership, communications, fundraising, marketing and public affairs. Since 2016 he has been the Director of Engagement at blood cancer charity, Anthony Nolan, leading the charity’s communications, fundraising, marketing and register development work. Prior to that, he spent over five years as the organisation’s Director of Communications and Marketing.
His previous experience includes eleven years at Cancer Research UK – where he established their first public affairs and advocacy function – and time as a director at communications agency, MHP Health Mandate. He is currently a trustee of the Anima Foundation and a judge for the Kingston Smith Creative Vision Awards but he has also spent time as a trustee for both the Small Charities Coalition and the Association of Medical Research Charities.
