PwC has been a philanthropic place for many years, and the PwC Foundation supports PwC people to come together and have a bigger collective impact than they could on their own. The PwC Foundation was set up in 2011 to promote social inclusion and sustainable development in the UK, and our core funding is a mixture of PwC UK charitable donations, and fundraising by PwC people for our charity partners. Our first fundraising initiative, the Race for £3m, raised over £3.3m, and supported over 23,000 beneficiaries (2014-2017). 3,000+ PwC people supported the Race for £3m, through fundraising and volunteering. They ran, swam, cycled, baked and ate cakes, trekked mountains, held quizzes, and auctioned promises in order to make a positive change for our charity partners beneficiaries. We work alongside a UK-wide PwC support network of volunteers, to deliver additional value to our charity partners, enabling them to build relationships and networks for the future, develop new income streams, and collaborate within their sector. Our focus for the next 5 years will build on Race for £3m achievements, with our new programme ‘Together for Change: supporting 500,000 people’, moving our focus to the number of beneficiaries supported through our fundraising partnerships.
