After graduating from the University of East Anglia, Jo worked in advertising and media for ten years before joining Virgin Direct. By 1997 she worked as the Marketing Director as the company launched the Virgin One account.
In 2003 Jo left Virgin and the Virgin One Account to set up her own marketing consultancy and then later
moved to Canada where she launched her own Direct selling company.
Since returning to the UK Jo has launched and led Virgin Money Giving, a not-for-profit online fundraising
service from Virgin Money, and headed up Virgin Money’s sponsorship of the Virgin Money London Marathon, in addition to leading on many of Virgin Money’s Social Enterprise programs and setting up the Virgin Money Foundation.
Today Virgin Money Giving is a major force in UK charitable giving. Virgin Money Giving is the biggest not for profit fundraising platform in the UK, supporting over 15k UK charities to raise over £670m for good causes.
Half a billion has been raised for good charity through the London Marathon since the start of the Virgin Money and Virgin Money Giving relationship with the event.
