Stephen Uden is Director of Social Investment for Nationwide Building Society, the UK’s largest building society. In 2007 its 14m members voted that 1% of pre-tax profits should go to support good causes. Stephen is responsible for the Society’s social investment activities, including environment, community, workforce and supply chain.
Prior to joining Nationwide in 2012, Stephen was Head of Skills for Microsoft UK, developing the UK’s first IT apprenticeship programme and sponsoring 100 Specialist Schools and two academies.
Stephen is a member of the Living Wage Advisory Council, City & Guilds Quality & Standards Committee, the Business in the Community South-West Advisory Board and is a governor of a secondary academy.
