Royal Mail’s Operations Fundraising Challenge raises significant funds for our Charity of the Year partner and engages colleagues across our business in support of a national cause.
The Operations Fundraising Challenge involves Royal Mail’s entire Operations workforce being split into four regional teams competing to raise the most money for charity. In 2016, Royal Mail’s Community Investment team made several changes to the event that helped to make it the company’s most successful fundraising challenge ever.
The challenge ran from March to May 2016. 10,770 colleagues participated in over 500 fundraising events, raising more than £550,000 including matched giving for our Charity of the Year, the Stroke Association.
The money raised will fund up to 2,750 Life After Stroke grants, which will enable thousands of stroke survivors to receive vital home adaptations and specialist equipment to make the best possible recovery. In addition to raising money and awareness of stroke, the event helped to bring frontline and managerial staff together and improve working relationships.
