NatWest with The Prince’s Trust

NatWest with The Prince’s Trust

Biography

2016 has been the most impactful year in the history of the NatWest and Prince’s Trust 17-year partnership. NatWest is the largest corporate funder of The Trust’s Enterprise programme, which supports unemployed young people who are considering starting their own businesses. Last year the partnership value totalled just under £1.8 million with a portion of this enabling over 700 young entrepreneurs to access the programme and receive a comprehensive package of training and business mentoring. Employee engagement was at its highest level with over 400 NatWest colleagues volunteering to help deliver workshops, plus many more taking part in various fundraising activities including a bespoke 5-day cycle challenge. 2016 focussed on increasing awareness of the partnership through the launch of the first ever Tomorrow’s Business Awards, as well as highlighting the bank’s cashback redemption scheme to engage customers with the charity. A new partnership initiative offered promising young people on the Enterprise programme the opportunity to apply for NatWest’s Entrepreneurial Spark programme to help them grow and accelerate their business further. Strategic alignment has been key to the success of this ongoing partnership, enhancing NatWest’s position as a bank for business by giving disadvantaged young people the confidence and resources to set up in self-employment.
