Kelly is the Chief Data Protection Officer at the NSPCC, having joined the organisation in October 2017. This role includes leading the GDPR compliance project and ensuring teams understand the importance of data protection in their everyday activities. Kelly’s focus is on driving cultural change and bringing data protection to life. Kelly works closely with fundraising teams to maximise opportunities to identify potential major donors in a compliant manner.
Prior to working with the NSPCC, Kelly was an in house lawyer for Bupa for ten years, working primarily with the care homes, hospital, clinics and dental businesses. This role involved a significant amount of complex data protection advice in relation to data security and sharing, particularly where data subjects were unable to consent, and latterly Kelly played a key role in Bupa’s cross border GDPR preparations.
