In 2014, one of the key strategic objectives of London’s Air Ambulance was to acquire a second helicopter. In the same year, Hogan Lovells began a partnership with the charity. The law firm played a unique role in making the second helicopter a reality over a three year partnership, essentially becoming part of the charity team as they provided pro bono legal work and oversaw complex negotiations. This generous donation of time saved London’s Air Ambulance over £77,000.
While Hogan Lovells was instrumental during the second helicopter campaign, its support extended far beyond that particular objective. Employees also contributed hugely towards the charity’s fundraising efforts with their own events and awareness campaigns, raising £100,000 through their charitable giving programme during the course of 2016 alone. Just some of the events that staff got stuck into were quiz nights, wine tastings, ballroom dancing competitions and sponsored runs, walks and abseils.
Over the past three years, staff at the law firm have raised a total of £177,517 and offered invaluable support to London’s Air Ambulance, making Hogan Lovells wholly deserving of this award.
