Biography

I have worked both in the Public and Private sector but quite unusually for the same company, Royal Mail Group, probable the most community centric company in the UK.

I have worked for Royal Mail for 35 years working in Public Affairs, Marketing, operations, business management and commercial compliance. For the past 10 years I have been fortunate enough to manage the companies Community Investment Programme.

It is the most satisfying role that I have had as it allows me to work closely with charities, good causes, government bodies and many other varied organisations and corporates to make a real difference to the individuals and the communities that we serve. The role also gives me access to a workforce of 140,000 people and a vast range of communication channels. This allows me to test innovative ideas, drive support and awareness for important causes and to get a large number of people focussed on UK wide issues, such as Mental Health.

I am driven to make a difference. I believe that no cause is to small and no challenge to big. By working together and listening to each other I am always confident that the business and charity sectors can come up with innovative solutions and tackle any problem through a shared desire to make a difference.
