Thanks to incredible support from customers and employees, the easyJet and Unicef Change for Good partnership has now raised over £8.5 million, helping to protect millions of children around the world from disease and keep them safe during emergencies. The pan-European partnership launched in 2012 and after three years was renewed with the goal of raising £10 million by 2018. easyJet now supports Unicef’s vital work to keep children safe from polio and end this disease once and for all.
Over the year, easyJet’s 6,500 cabin crew collected donations from passengers across 31 countries during three set collection periods. easyJet also did a special collection to support Unicef’s Soccer Aid appeal, and launched an exciting campaign on World Polio Day to raise awareness and thank customers.
Donations enabled Unicef to quickly respond to a sudden outbreak of polio in Myanmar, helping to vaccinate more than seven million children against polio. Unicef launched a new virtual reality film to boost cabin crew motivation and bring their support for polio eradication to life. Employees entered a competition for the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to travel to Cameroon to witness Unicef’s work first hand. The partnership raised £1.6million, surpassing expectations by £300,000.
