BMW Group UK partnered with Whizz-Kidz to put young disabled people in the driving seat of their own lives, raising in excess of £315,000 to provide life-changing wheelchairs and mobility equipment, plus vital training, life skills and support to over 300 children in the communities where BMW Group colleagues live and work. We used our skills, time and networks to generate significant funds and deliver wide-ranging, life-changing outcomes for the charity and its beneficiaries.
Our approach created a rewarding partnership which was relevant and tangible for colleagues across our businesses, despite our diverse and geographical dispersed workforce. BMW’s core focus on mobility meant Whizz-Kidz was a natural fit and appealed to colleagues. This strong synergy enabled us to build a multi-faceted relationship which made best use of our resources, saw high levels of colleague participation and was our most successful charity partnership to date in terms of monies raised and benefits delivered for both organisations. The partnership enabled us to increase staff engagement, bringing colleagues together for a common goal, showcase and develop our people’s skills, and build a more inclusive, disability-friendly business.
